 Maj-Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), shared specifics of the actions taken against Army officials following the May 9 riots on Monday. He stated that three officials, including a Lt-Gen, had been fired, while disciplinary proceedings against other officers, including three major generals and seven brigadiers, had been completed.

 

The spokesperson stated that the May 9 events were "undoubtedly" part of a long-planned conspiracy against Pakistan. According to the military spokesperson, the purpose of speaking to the media today was to provide "facts" regarding May 9 events. Maj Gen Sharif also played a video montage with testimonies from the martyrs' families during the press conference.

 

The spokesperson said, "The incident of May 9 is extremely disappointing, condemnable, and a black chapter in the history of our country." She added that "miscreants and their facilitators did" what the nation's enemies could not in 76 years.
